On the evening of May 26th, the opening ceremony of the 2023 China Jingshan Bird Watching Week, sponsored by Taili Group, was grandly held at the Jingshan Tennis Center in Jingshan City, Hubei Province. Co-organized by the China Wildlife Conservation Association, Hubei Wildlife Conservation Association, and the Cuncaoxin Countryside Environmental Protection Promotion Association, the event was marked by a welcome address from Vice Chairman of the Cuncaoxin Countryside Environmental Protection Promotion Association and Chairman of Guangdong Taili Technology Group Co., Ltd., Shi Zhengbing. He emphasized the local government’s commitment to ecological protection in Jingshan City and expressed Taili Group’s dedication to promoting high-quality development and environmental conservation in Jingshan.
Themed “Beautiful Jingshan, Birdwatching Paradise,” this year’s China Jingshan Bird Watching Week aims to promote birdwatching culture and protect the ecological environment. Jingshan City boasts 253 recorded bird species, including 7 species under national first-level protection and 45 under second-level protection. Its extensive water bodies, wetlands, and favorable geographical conditions have made it an ideal destination for birdwatching and bird photography enthusiasts.
The event, held continuously from May 25th to 28th, includes activities such as the Wild Bird Watching and Photography Competition, National University Students Birdwatching Competition, Primary and Secondary School Students Birdwatching Competition, and Birdwatching Carnival. Birdwatching teams from nearly a hundred universities including Peking University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, as well as ecological photographers from across the country, gathered in Jingshan. Through online live broadcasts and social media interactions, the event has expanded its social influence, promoting the popularization of birdwatching culture and the advancement of conservation efforts.
